Australia come back from the dead!

Post by Admin_Holden on Sun Jan 06, 2008 2:36 pm

Yes, Australia were facing a 60 run deficit the other day and nearly had to put up with a draw today.

Australia were 69 runs behind after India's first innings before Mike Hussey earned himself a Backyard Bucket top scoring for the Aussies with 145 not out!

In India's second innings a draw looked inevitable in the last hour when India had 4 wickets in hand. Then Symonds went in and took a wicket for LBW and on the second last over before India had a draw: Michael Clarke (Lara Bingle's bloke, if you haven't heard of her she's a supermodel) had these stats (remember India are 7/210):
Ball 1: WICKET!
Ball 2: WICKET!
Ball 3: Dot ball (No runs scored)
Ball 4: Dot ball
Ball 5: WICKET!

And with 9 minutes remaining Australia won the match by 123 runs. It also equals the best winning streak, set previously by Australia of 16 wins in a row. Shocked

Are they doing it again? Australia need 99 runs to win with two tail enders who think they are playing for fun. India need two wickets to win with one day to go! Do you think australia can get the 99 runs to win to get 17 wins in a row?

I don't think they did win. When I opened MSN when the thing popped up it said they lost...
